Mendocino College and Mendocino County Resource Conservation District Offer Joint Workshop

Please join us for a 2-day workshop to finish the ferrous cement water tank at the Sustainable Technology (SST) House and learn to harvest, design for, and use rainwater.  This workshop will be held July 22nd and 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Mendocino College Ukiah Campus.  Set yourself up for success and prepare for next winter’s rains, a single storm can fill your tank.

Mendocino College Announces 2016-17 Math Contest Winners

The results of the 2016-17 Mendocino College math contest series were announced recently, and two students tied and were named co-champions.  The winners, Deanna Powell and Possatorn “Blues” Sutcharitchun, each solved 28 of the 30 weekly puzzles.  

Tied for first runner-up, with 14 puzzles solved, were Ari Sunbeam and Elios Sgouros.  Forty students submitted correct solutions to at least one of the contests.

Mendocino College Faculty, Dr. Brianna Zuber, Visits Capitol Hill

In May, as part of a team of scientists with the Biological and Ecological Sciences Coalition (BESC) from across the U.S., Dr. Brianna Zuber visited with several California Senators and Representatives during Congressional Visits Day on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.  Brianna is a Biology instructor at Mendocino College and was selected to attend Congressional Visits Day (CVD) because of Mendocino College’s unique field station, the Mendocino College Coastal Field Station (MCCFS). 

Five Eagles Selected to All-Conference Team; Ramsey is MVP

The Bay Valley Conference softball coaches have announced their All-Conference selections for the 2017 season. The second-place Mendocino College Eagles garnered five selections, including the Most Valuable Player Award.

This year’s Bay Valley MVP was the Eagles’ freshman first baseman Mykala Ramsey of Ukiah. Also selected, all First Team, were two sophomores, shortstop Aliza Atkins (Clear Lake HS) and third baseman Brianna Johnson (Fort Bragg HS) and two freshmen, center fielder Hannah Norwood (Clear Lake HS) and catcher Hannah Flynn (Middletown HS).

Mendocino College Joins the First Consortium Dedicated Specifically to Advancing Success of Men of Color in Community Colleges

We are excited to announce that Mendocino College has joined the Community College Equity Assessment Lab (CCEAL) National Consortium on College Men of Color (NCCMC). Participation in the NCCMC will enhance our commitment to improving the success of historically underrepresented and underserved students, including men of color.

Mendocino College Spring Dance Festival Provides a Strong Platform for the Voices of the Next Generation

The Mendocino College Spring Dance Festival celebrates the diversity of dance and how it unites people of all ages and ethnicities in its 16th year!  Dancers take to the Mendocino College stage on Friday and Saturday, May 5 & 6 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, May 7 at 2:00 PM to share what they have to say, through movement, with audience members who come to witness this very popular annual event.  Through hip hop, jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap dance, and Middle Eastern dance, this year’s event promises to be dazzling!

Mendocino College Art Gallery Proudly Presents the Annual Juried Student Art Show

Mendocino College Welcomes Award Winning Author, Reyna Grande

Mendocino College welcomes award winning author, Reyna Grande, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Ukiah Campus.  The author will share her experiences as a writer, Mexican immigrant and writing instructor.  All are welcome to join us for a special reception from 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the Lowery Student Center followed by a reading by the author and question/answer session from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Little Theater.  This event is free and open to the public.
