Mendocino College Mesa Announces Second Annual ‘Escape Room’ Fundraiser

This Halloween MESA will be hosting their Second Annual Escape Room fundraiser event! What is an Escape Room you ask? . . . An Escape Room is a Halloween themed room that you and a group of up to four of your friends, colleagues, family members, or other Halloween enthusiasts are locked into. You then solve puzzles in order to escape the room as quick as possible. The quickest escaping team wins a $50 Amazon gift card! 

Mendocino College Presents José Rivera’s Play Sueño

Set against the backdrop of an eternally rotating cosmos, in the 1630’s Spain of the Inquisition, in which the Kingdom of Castille seemed to be the center of the universe, José Rivera’s modern play Sueño brings to life swashbuckling soldiers, a prince locked in a desolate tower since his birth, love affairs, political humor, and scenes of violence mixed with moments of poetry and dreams.

Mendocino College Art Gallery Presents Tomiko Jones: The Space Between Here and There

The Mendocino College Art Gallery is excited to announce its new exhibit, Tomiko Jones:  the space between here and there which opens with a reception on Thursday, September 21 from 4-6 p.m.  Ms. Jones will also be giving an artist’s talk on Thursday, September 28 at 4 p.m. on the Mendocino College Ukiah Campus in room 5310 of the Center for Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA).  Following her talk, she will provide a guided tour of the exhibition.

Mendocino College Announces Ribbon Cutting and Open House at New Coast Center

Mendocino College is excited to announce the Grand Opening of our Coast Center will be held Wednesday, August 9th, at 6:00 p.m.

Since the fall of 2014 Mendocino College has been offering a growing number of courses to the residents on the Mendocino Coast through the former College of the Redwoods Center.  Mendocino College officially began serving coastal residents as of July 1, 2017 through a transfer of territory that formally brought the coast region into the Mendocino-Lake Community College District.

Mendocino College Announces First Vice President of Student Services, Ulises Velasco

The Mendocino-Lake Community College District is pleased to announce the appointment of Ulises Velasco as the District’s first Vice President of Student Services.  Mr. Velasco was selected from a competitive pool of highly qualified candidates, after an extensive search, to advocate for the students, provide visionary leadership, and strengthen our services to students.  

Mendocino College and Mendocino County Resource Conservation District Offer Joint Workshop

Please join us for a 2-day workshop to finish the ferrous cement water tank at the Sustainable Technology (SST) House and learn to harvest, design for, and use rainwater.  This workshop will be held July 22nd and 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Mendocino College Ukiah Campus.  Set yourself up for success and prepare for next winter’s rains, a single storm can fill your tank.

Mendocino College Announces 2016-17 Math Contest Winners

The results of the 2016-17 Mendocino College math contest series were announced recently, and two students tied and were named co-champions.  The winners, Deanna Powell and Possatorn “Blues” Sutcharitchun, each solved 28 of the 30 weekly puzzles.  

Tied for first runner-up, with 14 puzzles solved, were Ari Sunbeam and Elios Sgouros.  Forty students submitted correct solutions to at least one of the contests.

Mendocino College Faculty, Dr. Brianna Zuber, Visits Capitol Hill

In May, as part of a team of scientists with the Biological and Ecological Sciences Coalition (BESC) from across the U.S., Dr. Brianna Zuber visited with several California Senators and Representatives during Congressional Visits Day on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.  Brianna is a Biology instructor at Mendocino College and was selected to attend Congressional Visits Day (CVD) because of Mendocino College’s unique field station, the Mendocino College Coastal Field Station (MCCFS).
