Two Years of Free Tuition for Full-Time Students
Mendocino College is invested in your success and as a part of our efforts to make college affordable and attainable to all students within our community, we offer the Mendocino College Promise. All CA residents and AB 540 students can have their enrollment fees covered by a combination of grants and other funds.
Students may qualify in one of three ways:
1. Through the California College Promise Grant by completing the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act application.
- The California College Promise Grant waives enrollment fees for fall, spring, and summer terms.
- To be eligible you must qualify by meeting certain income requirements. Your enrollment fees will be waived at the time of registration or eligibility determination.
2. Through the Mendocino College Promise Program for First-Year Students
In order to qualify you:
- Must be a California resident or AB 540 student;
- Must complete the FAFSA or Dream Act application;
- Must not be eligible for the California College Promise Grant;
- Must enroll full-time (12 units* or more per semester);
- Must have an educational plan on file (see a counselor if you do not have one yet); and
- Must complete the Interest Form.
If you are eligible, you will receive a scholarship covering your out-of-pocket enrollment fee charges!! The scholarship will be issued to your account after the add deadline to cover your enrollment fees.
3. Through the Mendocino College Promise Program for Second-Year Students
In order to qualify you:
- Must have qualified for the Promise Program during your first year;
- Must be a California resident or AB 540 student;
- Must have remained continuously enrolled, and complete 12 units* each semester;
- Must complete the FAFSA or Dream Act application;
- Must not be eligible for the California College Promise Grant;
- Must be enrolled full-time (12 units * or more per semester); and
- Must have a comprehensive educational plan on file (see a counselor if you do not have one yet).
If you continue to be eligible, you will receive a scholarship covering your out-of-pocket enrollment fee charges!! The scholarship will be issued to your account after the add deadline to cover your enrollment fees.
*DRC students may qualify for a waiver to meet the 12-unit* requirement
