Mendocino College Spring Dance Festival - Celebrating Dance!

For the past fifteen years, the Mendocino College Dance Department has acknowledged National Dance Week with its own celebration of dance, the Spring Dance Festival, and this year is no exception! Ballet, contemporary, jazz, Middle Eastern, hip hop, and tap dance are just a handful of dance forms that will delight those who attend this event on Friday and Saturday, April 29 & 30 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, May 1 at 2:00 PM in the Mendocino College Center Theatre in Ukiah. “This event is one of Mendocino College’s most popular yearly events.

Mystery Writer to Read at Mendocino College

Friends of the Mendocino College Library, an affiliate of the Mendocino College Foundation, are hosting mystery author Waights Taylor Jr. for its third reading in the spring reading series. He will be reading from his new novel, Touch of Redemption, on Thursday, April 21st at 7 PM in Room 4210, upstairs in the new college library. The college is located at 1000 Hensley Creek Rd. in Ukiah. Admission to the event is free.

Mendocino College To Begin Offering Sustainable Technology Program Courses at Lake Center

Mendocino College will offer its first Construction Fundamentals Class (SST 180) at the Lake Center beginning on February 27th, 2016.  The class, an introduction to construction skills and methods, covers a range of topics from safe tool use and construction practices to fundamental building skills and an overview of construction topics.  All members of the community are welcome to register for the class, which starts on February 27th.  This course will be held at the Mendocino College Lake Center in Lakeport, all members of the community are welcome to enroll.

Internationally Acclaimed Theatre Artist Carey Perloff Visits Mendocino College

The Friends of the Mendocino College Library and the Friends of the Mendocino College Theatre are pleased to announce that theatre director and playwright Carey Perloff will be visiting Mendocino College on Sunday February 21 at 3 PM.  The event is part of the college library reading series which brings notable writers to the campus each semester.  Perloff, who helms San Francisco’s flagship theatre company, The American Conservatory Theatre (A.C.T.) will speak about her new book Beautiful Chaos which chronicles her past 20 years as A.C.T.’s Artistic Director.

Mendocino College Hosts Stark Abundance Series: Through the Eyes of Arctic First Peoples

From February 11 through March 20, Mendocino College will host an exciting series of events that will explore the Native peoples of the Arctic: the Eskimo and Inuit.  These events will include an exhibit of Eskimo and Inuit art in the Mendocino College Art Gallery, and several free events that will undoubtedly stimulate thoughts and questions related to these cultural groups and the extreme environments in which they have lived and continue to live.

Mendocino College Releases Spring 2016 Courses

Mendocino College has a full selection of community college classes set for the spring semester, beginning on Monday, January 25, 2016. Registration is happening online at Mendocino.edu or by visiting any one of our four locations.

"We’ve scheduled a diverse offering of classes in various formats throughout the week including many Saturday courses to meet different student needs in all of the communities we serve," says Dean of Instruction, Debra Polak. Registering soon for the spring semester is advised to help guarantee placement.
