Mendocino College Plans to Offer More On-Ground Classes in Spring 2022 with a Focus on Campus Safety

A “safety first” mindset has been the approach of Mendocino College when planning to return to a more normal offering of on-ground classes and student services after a long 18 months of mostly remote learning. While the college never completely shut down, it is excited to announce that many classes will be held in person. The spring 2022 term begins January 18, and will look similar to how it did pre-pandemic, with more on-ground classes.

Mendocino College Board of Trustees Appoint New Superintendent/President, Dr. Tim Karas

The Mendocino-Lake Community College Board of Trustees approved the appointment of their next Superintendent/President Dr. Tim Karas on Wednesday evening at their regularly scheduled June meeting. Dr. Karas’ new role will officially begin July 13. Dr. Karas will be leaving his post as the President of the College of Alameda, a position he has held since 2016.

Senator McGuire and Mendocino College Announce $1 Million Grant to Expand Construction Program and to Assist in Fire Rebuild

Today, Senator McGuire and Mendocino College announced that $1 million has been secured to expand the College’s construction career program. The expansion dollars will be focused on recruiting additional students into the program in both Lake and Mendocino counties, which will expand the construction workforce, grow business partnerships, hire additional faculty, and purchase needed equipment.
