Mendocino College Lowery Student Center and Pomo Plaza

Mendocino College will host a Día de los Muertos celebration on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. in the Lowery Student Center at the Ukiah campus. Día de Los Muertos or “Day of the Dead” is a holiday widely observed in Mexico and the American Southwest which pays tribute to family and friends who have passed away. The celebration will include altars made by Mendocino College students and staff as well as Mexican food booths, music, Torito de Petate and Folkloric dancers, hot chocolate, pan dulce, piñatas, children’s arts & crafts and so much more. Everyone is welcome at this free event.

Mendocino College presents an original Narrative Theatre production, directed by Ellen Weed, Kate Magruder, and Laura Hamburg. This powerful ensemble performance draws upon personal stories that illuminate the unique "back to the land" experience in Mendocino County.
