The Finish Line Scholarship supports students in completing their educational goals—whether earning a certificate, degree, or transferring to a four-year university—within one academic year. Eligible students may receive up to $4,000 in scholarship funds, along with additional support services. Priority is given to students with the greatest financial need.
Student Responsibilities
As a Finish Line Scholar, you must:
- Meet with a Counselor every semester
- Participate in at least two workshops or campus life activities each semester
- Enroll full-time in both Fall and Spring semesters
- Take only courses required for your program of study
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, you must:
- Be eligible for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG)
(Check your financial aid award in MyMendo) - Have unmet financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid Office
- Be on track to complete a certificate, degree, or transfer within the academic year
- Enroll in at least 12 units toward your program or maintain full-time equivalent status in Fall and Spring
- Have completed at least 50% of the required credits for your program
(e.g., 30 out of 60 units for AA/AS/ADT programs) - Have a comprehensive education plan on file, showing a realistic path to completion within the year
You must also meet at least two of the following:
- Completed transfer-level English
- Completed transfer-level Math
- Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
