"Mom, I Can't Do This Anymore" - an art exhibit by Suni Smith.

-A daughter's quest for understanding & healing of evolving mental illness

-A mother's quest to transform suicide loss into action and education for the community

The community is invited to attend the upcoming Mendocino College Art Gallery exhibit, "Mom, I Can't Do This Anymore". Mental illness, suicide and beyond, this exhibit expresses a mother and daughter’s quest for healing.

“A mother and daughter document through art their journey through mental illness, confusion, physical trauma and the suicide left in its wake. This show is a testament to the courageous will of a mother who is moved to channel her grief into spreading awareness of mental illness and the suicidal outcome it can cause. Accompanying the artwork is an interactive commentary of ideas, and questions surrounding Mental Health Issues and Suicide,” says Mendocino College Art Gallery Director, Doug Browe.

Art will be on display beginning Friday, August 13 until Thursday, September 30. There will be a gallery opening event on Saturday, September 18 from 4-7 pm. Gallery hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30 pm until 3:30 pm and by appointment. For more information, call (707) 468-3207 or email Gallery@mendocino.edu.
