Mental Health Counseling

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911.

Counselors can provide short-term personal counseling to students for mild to moderate personal life issues, family, or other social concerns that may impact academic success. Counselors may refer students to the CARE Team, Health Services, community mental health providers, and community resources for further assistance as needed.

Our metal health counselors are available to help you on an individual basis. To schedule an appointment, you can reach them directly by email, phone or text at:

Jeremy (Owen) Lawyer
jlawyer@mendocino.edu
(707) 391-7452

Rachel Young
ryoung@mendocino.edu
(707) 694-2450

Once you connect with a counselor, you can explore how to continue meeting.  Our counselors have access to remote services such as Zoom and Cranium Café.  If you will be using Cranium Café, to connect for a live video chat with our friendly counselors:

  1. Use Chrome or Firefox for your browser.
  2. Turn on your webcam.
  3. Turn on your microphone.
  4. If you see a green light next to the name of a counselor, click on "Knock on Door" to begin.
  5. Log in with your MyMendo username and password.

*Video chats are normally recorded for your benefit. Only the student and the counselor have access to a recorded session. Please let your counselor know if you prefer not to have your session recorded.
