OVERTIME is paid for temporary, short-term, hourly employees authorized to work over 8 hours in a day (or 40 in a week) when the general work week for staff is five 8 hour days per week, but not 10. Employees need prior authorization to work overtime.
STUDENT EMPLOYEES: District & Federal work-study students must be actively enrolled in at least 6 units at MC (3 units Summer). EOPS work-study students must be actively enrolled in at least 9 units. Students who drop below units required or withdraw from MC are immediately ineligible for student employment.
Student Employees: $12.00/hr; Students can earn an additional .50 cent step increase annually with a maximum of 2 steps. 
Student Tutors:  $13.00/hr; Tutors will be paid at a rate of one dollar per hour above minimum wage. Tutors can earn an additional .50 cent step increase annually with a maximum of 2 steps.
