 book by Meredith Wilson
based on a story by Meredith Wilson and Franklin Lacey
directed by Reid Edelman
(a co-production with the Ukiah Civic Light Opera)

April 12 through April 21, 2013
Performances April 12, 13, 19 & 20 at 8:00 pm;
April 18 at 7:30 pm and April 21 at 2:00 pm

An affectionate paean to Smalltown, USA of a bygone era, The Music Man
follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City,
Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boy's band he vows to organize -
this despite the fact he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip
town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him
into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall. By turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic and touching,
The Music Man is family entertainment at its best.
