The MESA Club of Mendocino College will be hosting their seventh annual wine and food pairing entitled, Vine and Dine on May 8, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00p.m.at Jaxon Keys Winery.  This dinner will consist of a four course meal planned and prepared by a representation of Ukiah Valley restaurants.  Each of these courses will be paired with a wine chosen by local wine makers.  The wine and food pairings will be discussed by the chefs and winemakers. 

The suggested donation amount for this event is $50/person and $90 per couple. The ticket donation includes a sit down four course meal, wine, beer and stand-up appetizers.  “Last year’s dinner was a huge success.” states Sandy Arellano, MESA Club President. “This event showed huge community support for students and was a result of team work.  This event encouraged students to work together because we saw how our collective efforts can lead to success.  The success of this dinner inspired us to make it an annual event.”   More than $12,000 was raised to provide 20 incoming, continuing and transferring students with scholarships. 

The MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement) Program works to increase the number of financially and educationally disadvantaged students who transfer to four-year universities and earn degrees in mathematics, science or engineering.  This program provides academic support programs and creates a community of learners based on academic achievement.
