What if I don't want students taping my lectures?

Faculty may have concerns about DRC students who tape record lectures and classroom discussion. Instructors may have privacy concerns, or concerns about violations of copyright, if their material or third party content is shared in another venue.

DRC staff share your concerns! For this reason, students are cautioned that tape recording is an accommodation authorized for educational purposes only! Students may not use recordings for any purposes other than their own studying. They may not share tapes with anyone else -even classmates.

DRC students are required to sign an agreement acknowledging that, while they have the right to an academic accommodation, they also have the responsibility to keep tape recorded materials confidential!

If at any time you have a concern about the integrity of this process, contact the DRC Director to discuss the situation in detail.
