David Smith-Ferri to Read at Mendocino College    

    The Friends of the Mendocino College Library are hosting a reading by Ukiah Poet Laureate David Smith-Ferri on Thursday, April 10, at 7:30 PM in room 5310 in the Center for the Visual & Performing Arts on the Ukiah campus, free admission.      
    Smith-Ferri will read from his book Battlefield without Borders ( depicting his encounters with Iraqi people during visits to Iraq and Jordan over the last eight years. Through slides and poetry, he will bring the Iraqi people he has met into our presence, portraying their resilience, courage, and decency. Come learn about the Direct Aid Initiative, a grassroots effort that provides urgent medical care for Iraqis in Jordan and in Iraq.
