Ukiah, CA - Mendocino College will be adding six new members to its athletic Hall of Fame Saturday Feb. 16th. New inductees will include former football player Jeff Schueller, softball athlete Desiree Schroeder-Linder, and baseball player Matt Belfanti.

Schueller, the male “Athlete of the year” his senior year at Ukiah High School, was an all-league performer at MC earning the T.W. Erickson award as the most outstanding lineman on the Eagle squad. He also played for the University of California Golden Bears.
Schroeder-Linder played sports at Round Valley High school before coming to Mendocino College. She earned all-league honors both years at MC and was voted Bay Valley Conference “Player of the Year” for the 2003 season and was selected to the first team All-State team that year.

Belfanti, also a former Ukiah High athlete, was an all-league performer in baseball at MC, where he was selected to the All-Northern Calif. and J.C. All-American teams. He also was an Academic All-American. He currently holds nine career statistical records for baseball at the college. Matt went on to play at baseball powerhouse Cal-State Fullerton.

Other inductees include Yancy Clark, basketball, Dale Fischer, football and baseball and Skip Hunter in the special recognition category.

The event will be held at Barra of Mendocino winery (formerly Redwood Valley Cellars) in Redwood Valley. No host social hour at 6 p.m., followed by a catered meal at 7 p.m., with the induction to start at 8 p.m. This event has limited seating and tickets must be purchased in advance.
