March 2013 - Planning for future Career and Technical Education (Vocational Programs) will take place to renovate vacated facilities in the Grove buildings, and to meet future program needs.
December 2012 - Changes to expand the Culinary Arts facilities were completed during December. Planning is taking place for the upgrading of the Business/Office Technology and Computer Science programs.
June 2012 - Planning for projects to meet the needs of Career and Technical Education programs has begun, with changes planned to the computer lab and needs assessment for the Business and Office Technology programs underway. Implementation of the changes is on-going.
December 2011 - Additional equipment for the Automotive Technology program is being planned for and prioritized by the Bond Implementation Planning Committee.
September 2011 - Conversion of the old welding shop into additional space for the Automotive Technology program has been completed. Additional equipment for the space is being planned for and prioritized by the Bond Implementation Planning Committee. All projects have come in under budget.
June 2011 - Renovation of vacated areas in the Ag. Headhouse building are complete, with final finishing touches in the classroom to be completed by the start of Fall 2011 classes. Planning the vacated Vocational building spaces is complete and has been bid and awarded. The space previously occupied by ceramics, sculpture, and maintenance will now be renovated to allow expansion of the Automotive Technology program. All projects have come in under budget.
March 2011 - Renovation of vacated areas in the Ag. Headhouse building have begun, including spaces for the new Sustainability "Green Technology" program and office, classroom, and warehouse improvements for horticulture. Additional planning for the ceramics and automotive program expansion is being reviewed by the facilities planning committee.
December 2010 - The Raku Roof structure is complete, including the fire sprinklers. Future projects include renovation of vacated and relocated spaces in the East campus complex. the Vocational Technical building, and the Ag. Headhouse.
September 2010 - The Raku Roof structure is complete, with the fire sprinklers scheduled for installtion during the winter break. Future projects include renovation of vacated and relocated spaces in the East campus complex, the Vocational Technical building, and the Ag. Headhouse.
December 2009 - The Raku Roof, located next to the ceramics lab, is complete, with the fire sprinklers scheduled for installation when DSA plan check approval has been received. Work necessary to comply with ADA requirements is nearing completion. Future projects include renovation of vacated and relocated spaces in the East campus complex, the Vocational Technical building, and the Ag. Headhouse.
June 2008 - Planning for the upgrade of vocational programs has begun in conjunction with the updating of the District's Educational Master Plan. Meaux Architecture Group has been retained for the planning of a roof addition over the raku yard of the Ceramics program, which will allow for all weather utilization of this space.
February 2008 - Project bid specifications are being developed for the Ceramics "Raku" roof project since it has been determined that this project will have to go to formal bid.
December 2007 - A conceptual plan for the Raku roof has been created. Research is being done to locate a suitable contractor to finalize plans for the structure.
August 2007 - This project should be split to create a sub-project for the Raku Roof. May need to reconfigure space to include AG Headhouse and Voc/Tech Buildings. This project should be part of the Master Plan Phase II.
