Initial application processing uses the Chancellor’s Office formula for acceptance, which calculates overall GPA, Science GPA, and English GPA to determine eligibility. A non-passing grade (D or F) in one of the science prerequisites (Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology) is calculated in the formula as a negative if it occured within the past 10 years.
Part of the calculation includes an established cut score wherein applicants that score at least an 80% on the Chancellor’s Office formula will be considered for admission and those that score below will not be considered. Applications that score at or above 80%, and meet all other requirements, are placed into a lottery and randomly selected (by computer generated method) for offers of admission until all available seats are exhausted.
Those who are sent offers of admission will still need to meet other criteria as described in the application handbook (background check, written response to offers of admission, etc).
*All prerequisites and GE courses must be completed by the end of the semester in which an applicant submits their application.
