This course will introduce students to a major theme, topic or set of issues that is a subject of contemporary political debate, a historical political event or set of events that have shaped politics and society, or emerging themes, issues and concerns that are significant and timely. Students will develop an informed, critical understanding of the topic or event. Topic varies each semester. No topic may be taken more than once. Only 3.0 special topic courses apply towards general education requirements.
