This course will focus on the jazz ensemble literature of late 20th century composers to today. Examples will include progressive, jazz-rock fusion, and other styles characteristic of the period. Through the rehearsal and performance process, students will gain knowledge of the some of the greatest music ever written for the jazz ensemble. The course will culminate in a public performance of the music.
