This is the first half of a standard course in beginning algebra, designed for individuals desiring a slower paced math course. Topics covered include fundamental algebraic concepts and operations of the real numbers, order of operations, solutions of linear equations and inequalities, applications of linear equations, linear equations inequalities in two variables, solutions of systems of linear equations and inequalities, polynomials, and integer exponents.
